Adeline M. Nemeth, 87, of New Carlisle, formerly of South Bend, passed away on Tuesday October 21, 2008, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

She was born on October 10, 1921, in South Bend, to the late John H. and Louise (Majewski) Borkowski and was a lifelong area resident. On August 31, 1946, she married Steve J. Nemeth, who preceded her in death on July 10, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Dolores Borkowski; and by a brother, Richard J. Borkowski.

Adeline is survived by her niece, Constance M. (Charlie) Carter of LaPorte, IN; her nephew, John R. (Rosemary) Borkowski of New Carlisle, IN; and by two great-nephews, Richard H. (Kristina) Borkowski of Harrisburg, PA and Joseph J. Borkowski of New Carlisle.

Mrs. Nemeth was the former Co-Owner and Operator of Nemeth's Body Shop in South Bend. She was a graduate of South Bend Central High School and the South Bend College of Commerce. She was a former member of The Rum Village Businessman's Association. Adeline had a cottage on Magician Lake, MI and loved to spend time there swimming and boating. She loved tending to her flower gardens there as well. Adeline was a loving and caring aunt who was always there for her niece and nephews. She will be dearly missed!

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Sunday October 26, 2008, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend and from 9 to 10 AM Monday October 27, 2008, in the funeral home. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 6 PM. Sunday in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Monday in the St. Matthew Cathedral, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
