Robert Maximillian Doetsch

Robert Maximillian Doetsch, age 83, of Austin, Texas, formerly of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Wednesday. January 23, 2002. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as a eucharistic minister. He served in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant during World War II. He attended St. Edward's University, where he played baseball, football and basketball. He was an avid golfer. He was chief supervisor of the supply section with the Texas Department of Transportation with 34 years of service before retiring in May 1980. 

He is survived by his wife, Frances Blanton Doetsch of Austin; daughters, Diane Doetsch Alvis and husband, Joel, of Houston, Madonna Doetsch Pool and husband, Bobby, of Fresno, California, Laura Doetsch Measeles and husband, Tommy, of Austin, Leesa Doetsch Anderson and husband, Ken, of Austin; son, Robert Blanton Doetsch and wife, Geneva, of Austin; brother, Richard Doetsch of Austin; sisters, Helen Ziel of Lake Zurich, Illinois, Marie Cook of South Bend, Indiana, Carolyn Kaczmarek of Tampa, Florida; and brother, John Doetsch of Mt. Plymouth, Florida; grandchildren, Jeffrey Alvis, Adam Anderson, Matt Pool, Zach Anderson, Jason Measeles, Jacob Anderson, Joseph Doetsch, Brandon and Shannon Reynolds, Sara and Matt Daly, Amanda Measeles, and Angela Doetsch.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by Rosary services at 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 25, 2002, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home. 

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 26. 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 5909 Reicher Drive with Father Robert Becker as celebrant. Honoring Mr. Doetsch as pallbearers win be his grandsons. A special thanks to Dr. Robert Morgen, and to Dr. David Terressen; and the nurses and staff at Waterloo Dialysis.
