SOUTH BEND - Olga K. Seidl, 102, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 8:50 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at the Sanctuary of St. Paul. She was born on November 16, 1911, in Rabakecol, Hungary, to the late Steven and Maria (Szabo) Kompar.

On June 22, 1946, in St. Stephen's Catholic Church, South Bend, she was united in marriage to Richard K. Seidl, who preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1984. Olga's parents, sister, Mary Farkas, and brother, Stephen E. Kompar, also preceded her in death.

Olga is survived by her daughter, Mary (Bruce) Cook; and son, John S. (Kathy) Seidl, both of South Bend, IN; two grandchildren, Megan Seidl and Stephen Seidl; and great-granddaughter, Natalie Seidl.

The family enjoyed time together at Diamond Lake, Cassopolis, MI, and St. Cloud, FL. Over the years, she was a member of Delta Theta Chi Sorority, the Progress Club of South Bend and the Ladies of the Elks. Mom and Dad also enjoyed their time in the Shoe and Slipper Dance Club. Mom was a longtime parishioner of St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Olga was a secretary for the Oliver Corporation for twenty years.

She was a lifelong resident of South Bend and a graduate of South Bend Central High School.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2013, at the Cathedral of St. Matthew, 1701 Miami St., South Bend, IN. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday at the cathedral. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank Mom's many caregivers over the past ten years, particularly the Center for Hospice and the staff at the Sanctuary at St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions in memory of Olga K. Seidl be offered to The Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545; St. Matthew School, 1701 Miami St., South Bend, IN 46613; or to the charity of the donor's choice.
