Dr. Anthony N. Domonkos, 66, Manhattan, N. Y., professor emeritus of dermatology at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons, died Monday, Feb. 19, 1979, at the Harkness Pavilion of the Presbyterian Hospital, New York City, N. Y., after a brief illness. The deceased had many friends in the Huntingdon area. He had served as resident physician at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital and he married the former Dorothy Parrish, who preceded him in death. Miss Parrish was a member of the Juniata College Music Department staff at the time of their marriage. They met in Hungary while she was studying there on a scholarship.

Dr. Domonkos was a consultant to the dermatology service of Presbyterian Hospital. He was born in South Bend, In., and attended Northwestern University, Chicago, from 1930 to 1931. He received a medical degree in Budapest in 1939 and served a hospital internship there. He was a graduate student in dermatology at the College of Physicians and Surgeons from 1946 to 1949, and was appointed attending dermatologist at the Presbyterian Hospital in 1969 and that same year became clinical professor of dermatology at the College of Physicians and Surgeons. 

The deceased had been elected recently as president of the American Dermatological Association and he was a member of the hoard of directors of the American Academy of Dermatology. He wrote three textbooks on dermatology. The best known, "Diseases of the Skin," is a standard text in dermatology and it has been published in seven languages. A number of memorial services were held for Dr. Domonkos, including one at St. Peter's Cathedral in New York. 111 1933, after receiving his degree in Budapest, he returned to the United States and interned at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. 

 He enlisted in the U. S. Air Force as a flight surgeon in 1942, served in the European Theatre of Operations and rose to the rank of major. He was discharged in 1946 and then became a resident in dermatology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center where he served until his passing. Publication of his textbooks and numerous publications in medical journals throughout the world, made him an international figure in dermatology as evidenced by the many awards received, numerous elected offices held and honorary memberships bestowed upon him. 

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dita Altman of New York City; a brother, Albert Domonokos, South Bend, Ind., and his close friend, Anne Leventon, New York City.
