John Frederick Kerner

SOUTH BEND - John F. Kerner, 86, of Regency Place Health Care Center, Lafayette, Ind., formerly of South Bend, died at 12:05 p.m. Friday in Regency Place.
Mr. Kerner retired in 1974 as supervisor of publication for Joy Mfg. Co. He was born June 25, 1909, in South Bend, and lived in Lafayette since March. On June 12, 1937, in South Bend, he married Dorothea M. Eddy. She died May 29, 1980. Surviving are a son, George E. of West Point, Ind.; a granddaughter, L. Brooke Kerner of Lafayette; and a brother, Richard G. of Bakersfield, Calif. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 294, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, and Service Corp of Retired Executives. He was a 1931 graduate of the University of Notre Dame.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Entombment will be in Riverview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today in the funeral home, where a masonic memorial service will be at 5:30 p.m.
