Josie J. Keppler , 88, of Fox Street, South Bend, Ind., died following an illness on Friday morning, Jan. 24, in Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 18, 1908, in Kansas City, Kan., and lived in South Bend for the past 70 years, coming from Whiting, Ind.

Miss Keppler is survived by her sisters, Nora Rupert of South Bend and Lois Schmitt of Granger, Ind.; and by a brother, Harry "Mac" Keppler , also of South Bend.

Six of her siblings preceded her in death: Opal Keppler , Ted Keppler , Robert Keppler , Roy Keppler , Danny Keppler and Edgar Keppler .

Memorial services for Miss Keppler will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the First Baptist Church, South Bend, with the Rev. Kenard Wilson officiating. Burial was in Southlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, where she was a long-time member.
