SOUTH BEND - Walter Woodrow Parker passed away of natural causes on February 26, 2010, in Galien, MI. He was born July 23, 1917, in South Bend, IN, the son of John Donaldson and Grace (Medaris) Parker.

He graduated from Central High School in South Bend, IN.

Mr. Parker is survived by his twin sister, Ruth Holtz; seven nieces, Joyce Divens, Janice Felix, Marlene Donaghe-Kime, Carol Needham, Loretta Medlin, Lorraine Cooper and Elaine Kaminskas; 15 great-nieces and nephews; and 17 great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gladys Six and Mildred Larsen; and by brothers, Robin and Donald Parker.

Walter served in World War II as a staff sergeant in the United States Army, and fought in the European Theater of Operation.

Cremation will take place with interment at Highland Cemetery. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
