Verina "Vera" (Kovatch) Eastburn

SOUTH BEND - Verina "Vera" Eastburn, 94, passed away at 10:45 pm Sunday, February 24, 2013, in Hamilton Grove Retirement Community. Vera was born on January 22, 1919, in South Bend, to John and Anna (Gerschoffer) Kovatch. She was employed by Ivy Tech and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, its Altar & Rosary Society, Mother's Chorusand PTA.

On November 18, 1939, in South Bend, she married Robert Eastburn. He died on October 8, 1964. Vera was also preceded in death by a sister, Ann Kovatch; and 6 brothers, John Kovatch, Ernest Kovatch, George Kovatch, Emery Kovatch, Charles Kovatch and Donald Kovatch.

Surviving are 4 daughters, Christine (Jim) Milliken, Jane (Mike) Kenna, Rozanne Kucharski and Gloria Feirick, all of South Bend; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, February 28, 2013, in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call 1 hour prior to services in the church. Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
