Edwin “Bud” Turnock Jr.

Edwin Turnock Jr., 59, of 19070 Miller, died Thursday in Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Tur-nock retired in 1971 after working 40 years as a plumber. Born on Oct. 30, 1916, in South Bend, he had lived here his lifetime.

On May 25, 1940, in South Bend, he married Dorothy Vincent, who survives. Also surviving are five sons, Michael of Lincolnshire, Ill., Thomas of Chicago, and Jeffrey, Ted and Douglas, all of South Bend; three grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. John McCauslin of South Bend and Mrs. Helen Amrhein of Deerfield Beach, Fla. 

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Forest G. Hay and Son Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan. Rev. Don Neely, pastor of the Ridgedale Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Southlawn.

Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Tumock was a chief shipfitter in the Navy Seabees during World War H, serving primarily in Guam. He was a member of Post 1167, Veter-ans of Foreign Wars.
