WINFIELD A. MACDONALD

Winfield A. MacDonald, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. Winfield, affectionately known as "Mac" was born in Pocatello, Idaho on November 19, 1926, to the late Albert and Emma (Nadeau) MacDonald. On November 24, 1949, he married Theresa Micinski who preceded him in death after 61 years of marriage. Also preceding him in death is his daughter, Marcia Jurtin; brothers, William MacDonald and Robert MacDonald; and sisters, Alberta Milcarek and Patricia Kroger.

Surviving are his children, Jim MacDonald, Marsha (Don) Kapica, and Tom (Kathy) MacDonald; grandchildren, Kristen (Joe) Hayes, Doug (Maureen) Kapica, Travis (Cathy) MacDonald, Brad (Michelle) MacDonald and Jamie (Josh) Meyers; 11 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Seall.

He graduated from South Bend Central High School. Mac was a two time veteran proudly serving in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He worked for Torrington Bearing Company for 33 years as a photographer and later as a sales department Manager until his retirement in 1982.
Mac was a huge Notre Dame football fan as well as Chicago Bears fan. He was also an avid golfer.
The family would like to express special thanks to the wonderful nurses, aides and nurse practitioner at Miller's Merry Manor of Walkerton, IN. Their loving care was outstanding and truly amazing.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 27, 2021, from 4 pm-6 pm at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. The family is requesting that masks be worn. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, in St. John the Baptist Church, 3526 St. John's Way, South Bend at 11 am with visitation one hour prior. The service may be streamed using the link https://www.youtube.com/channel/ucfFHOJ2hdxM91-qPyj5UMg. Mac will be laid to rest in Highland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Church or Miller's Merry Manor of Walkerton at 500 Walkerton Trail, Walkerton, IN 46574.
