MISHAWAKA - Loretta Anna Beatty was born in LaPorte, Indiana, on July 14, 1914. She was 99 years old when she passed at home with her loving family around her. Her deceased parents were Ida (Mickow) and Herbert Schoof. Her deceased husband of 55 years, Lloyd C. Beatty, passed on October 30, 1990. Her son, Thomas E. Beatty, passed August 1999. A grandson, Jerry A. Beatty, passed February 5, 2005.

Survivors of Loretta are a daughter, Sheri (Ivan) Greenhut; daughter-in-law, Carol Beatty; son, Jerry C. (Ginger Sue) Beatty; daughter, Penola (Dave) Kolesiak; and sister, Myrtle Witters. Loretta had 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Loretta married Lloyd C. Beatty in Mishawaka, Indiana, August 3, 1935.

Loretta loved her family and always cared for them in any way. She was an outstanding artist, using multiple art mediums. Loretta loved her flower gardens and received an award from the Near Northwest Neighborhood Association. She helped create the prayer garden at New Life Church and said "if there are any doubts about belief in Jesus Christ, just walk through the garden and you will believe!" She said "with God all things are possible." In her free time, Loretta loved to read books and study the Bible and made beautiful stained glass. She was a wonderful creative seamstress and a great cook.

Funeral services will be at New Life Church, 11593 McKinley Highway, Osceola, Indiana, on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 p.m. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN 46637.
