Edna M. (Hupps) Hendrick

July 24, 1916 - Sept. 10, 2005

Edna M. Hendricks, 90, residing on Meadowlark Lane, South Bend, IN, passed away at 1:29 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2005, in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend. She had worked in the secretarial and advertising departments for Studebaker's, at J.C. Penney's, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hendricks was born on July 24, 1915, in South Bend, IN, to Edward H. and Lillian (Reidel) Hupp, and was a lifelong resident.

On August 19, 1939, in South Bend, she married William Hendricks, who survives. Along with her husband of 66 years, William, she is survived by one daughter, Sharon (Jack) Selis of Mishawaka; one son, Craig (Conching) Hendricks of Rapid City, South Dakota; three grandchildren, Matthew (Kim) Selis, Jennifer Selis and Bill Hendricks; and four great-grandchildren, Jarrett, Hannah, Grace and Heidi. One brother, Edward Hupp, preceded her in death. 

Mrs. Hendricks was a 1933 graduate of South Bend Central High School, and was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, South Bend. She loved to quilt. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2005, in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. David Sickelka, pastor of Zion United Church of Christ, will officiate.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. The family will receive friends two hours prior to services on Wednesday in the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Edna M. Hendricks may be made to the charity of choice.
