Jayne Catherine (Hosimer)  Peck

Mequon, WI - Jayne Catherine Peck passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 3rd in Mequon, WI. She was 92. She was born in Battle Creek on February 20, 1926 and graduated from high school in South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Peck in 2011, her brother, Robert Hosimer, and her sister, Donna Hueman.

Jayne and Harold were married for 67 years living at 1 Country Club Drive. Jayne worked at Ft. Custer during WWII and later as a secretary for the Battle Creek Country Club. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Bailey (Lee) of Reynoldsburg, OH, her son, Marty Peck (Debbie) of Germantown, WI, granddaughters Jennifer Schorling (Craig) of Westerville, OH, Stephani Lang (Bill) of Newburgh, NY, Allison Peck Bierman (Bryan) of Washington DC, 4 great grandchildren, a special cousin, Gloria (Dody) Cook of Lansing, MI, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jayne will be remembered for her hospitality. Her home was the place for friends and relatives to congregate for visits and holidays. Her back door was always open. She received great pleasure entertaining and cooking for everyone. Christmas was a special time of the year for Jayne. Her living room was a fantasy land of gifts, decorations, and her infamous 9 foot Christmas tree which was talked about all year. She was also known for the doll house Harold built for her. It was a replica of their house and she organized and decorated each room.

Her giving nature led her to a life of volunteerism. She was a group leader with the Bluebirds and Campfire Girls. She was a Grey Lady at Lakeview General Hospital and a member of the Chapel Circle at the First Congregational Church as well as being a 50 year member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

A memorial to celebrate her life will be held in Battle Creek on April 27th, 2019. There will be a service at the First Congregational Church followed by a reception at the Battle Creek Country Club.
