MIRIAM I. (WISE) JONES

Miriam Irene Jones Jan. 1, 1929 - April 20, 2014 NILES - Miriam Irene (Wise) Jones, age 85, of Niles, Michigan died on April 20, 2014 at her home. Miriam Wise was born January 1, 1929 in South Bend, Indiana, the youngest child of Donald R. Wise and Whaneeta (Hively) Wise.

She graduated from South Bend Central High School in January 1947 and worked as a bookkeeper.

She married Richard J. Jones of Niles, Michigan on December 13, 1957 in Angola, Indiana, and settled in Niles where she lived for the rest of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband in July 2009 in Niles and by her only sibling, Darrell R. Wise, in December 2008 in Florida.

Surviving are two sons, David M. Jones of Niles, and Lawrence R. Jones (Anne) of Conifer, Colorado. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Michelle Harasewicz (Joe), Nichole Jones, and Melissa Austin (Chris) of Niles, Glen Lemon (Erika) of Berrien Springs, and Chelsea and Autumn Jones of Conifer, Colorado, as well as eight great-grandchildren, Isaac and Ava Miranda, Khloe and Ariyanna Austin, Kaylee and Emily Harasewicz, and Gage and Lilly Jones.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Thursday, April 24th at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles. Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, April 25th at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles. Burial will be at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. www.halbritterfunerals.com
