FRANK M. "SANDY" STUTESMAN

Frank M. "Sandy" Stutesman Jan. 8, 1929 - Dec. 26, 2014 MILL CREEK, WA - Frank M. Stutesman of Mill Creek, WA, died on Friday, December 26, after a long struggle with prostate cancer. He was first child born to Frank and Helen Stutesman on January 8, 1929, in Columbus, OH.

He was preceded in death by his dear wife Phyllis and his younger brother, James.

He had no children. Growing up in South Bend, IN, he was a board member of Central High's famous Barnstormers and worked summers at the Boy Scouts' Camp Bryan. He obtained an amateur radio operator's license at age 13 and graduated from Purdue University in 1952 with an electrical engineering degree. He was married to Eleanor Brademas from 1951 to 1956. Frank's entire 35-year engineering career was spent with one company, first known as the Bendix Corporation, later as Allied Signal, and currently as Honeywell. His first assignment was in his hometown of South Bend (where he was known as "Sandy"), followed by significant engineering management assignments at the company's then major facility in Teterboro, NJ, and finally in Burbank, CA.

In 1958 he met and married Phyllis Manning in NJ, where they designed and built their home in Upper Saddle River. He was an active participant in IEEE, AIAA and NSIA, professional engineering societies. After retirement, Frank and Phyllis moved to the idyllic four-season community of Mill Creek, WA, 10 miles north of Seattle, in the "Great Northwest"!! After cremation, Frank's ashes will be buried with other family members at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN, near South Bend. Share memories at www.becksfuneralhome.com.
