SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Dora Marie Woodford, 80, a longtime resident of Woodcrest Drive, South Bend, Indiana, entered into eternal rest at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 4, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Dora was born on March 12, 1927, in South Bend, to the union of her parents, William and Natalie (Boswell) Stein.

As a lifetime area citizen, she was educated in the South Bend Community School Corporation from which she later retired as a para-professional. Her career spanned 1975 to 1989.

53 years ago she was married to Eustren E. Woodford, who survives. Mrs. Woodford was a lifelong member of First AME Zion Church. She loved to cook, play bingo, and was a dedicated Weight Watcher advocate. She had many friends, and loved to walk in the mall every morning.

Loving family members who survive to mourn her loss along with her husband, Eustren, are four sons, Leslie of Houston, Mark (Akita) of Downingtown, PA, Bruce of Sonoma, CA, and Jason (Christine) of Bolingbrook, IL; five grandchildren, Asha, Amber, Adam, Austin and Joshua; a great-grandchild, Amari; three sisters, Catherine Rachel of Las Vegas, Eleanor Stein of San Jacinto, CA, and Shirley Warnell of South Bend; a brother, Leland Stein, also of South Bend; along with other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death along with her parents were two brothers, William W. Stein and Leroy Stein.

Funeral services for Mrs. Woodford will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Alford's Mortuary. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the services in Alford's Mortuary where arrangements have been entrusted. Messages of condolence may be e-mailed to alfordsmortuary@comcast.net.
