SOUTH BEND — Frank C. Lonna, 73, of 1433 E. Ewing Ave , who was one of the first members of the St. Joseph County Parks and Recreation Board, died at 9 p.m. Saturday at Medco Center. Mr. Lorincz was named to the board in 1967, and served for 21 years dunng the early development of the county park system. He was elected president of the board in 1975. Mr. Lonna retired from the Bendix Corp. after 43 years of service. He was born Aug. 21. 1917, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On Jan. 25, 1941, in South Bend, he married Mabel E. Boberg. She survives with two daughters. Carol Benninghoff of Newton, Kan, and Sandra Deavers of Woodland, Calif.; five grandchildren; a sister, Gay Kaman of Tempe, Am.; and a brother. Joseph of Vallejo, Calif.

He was a member of Ridgedale Presbyterian Church, Robin Hood Mens Golf Club, Masonic Lodge 294, Knights Templar 13 and Chapter 29, past president of St. Joseph County Restoration Club and Midwest Grotto Association, and past monarch of Avalon Grotto.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ridgedale Presbyterian Church. Bunal will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to ti p m. today in Hollis-Orns-Palmer Fu-neral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave , where members of Avalon Grotto will conduct services at 7 p m fol-lowed by services by Masonic Lodge 294 Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association or Avalon Grotto Humanitarian Fund.
