MARY J. (JORGENSON) WALLING-MARTIN

SOUTH BEND - Mary Jane Jorgensen-Walling-Martin, of Frankfort, IN passed peacefully August 1, 2008. Mary Jane "MJ" was born April 9, 1917 in South Bend, IN to Karen Marie (Carlsen) and Hans Jorgen Jorgensen, both Danish immigrants. MJ is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Harold, Ella Lindley, Carna Angus, Harry, Dorthea Bonine and Betty Nemeth; also first husband Thomas L. Walling, Sr., son Thomas L. Walling, Jr. and second husband George W. Martin.

Mary Jane, a 1935 graduate of South Bend Central High School, resided on North Scott Street and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. MJ and Tom Walling were blessed with five children: Ron (JoAnn) Walling (Ottawa, IL), Tom (Rita) Walling, Jr. (deceased - McMinnville TN), Kaaren (Eddie) Alexander (Frisco, TX), Richard Walling (South Bend, IN) and Donn (Zora) Walling (Frankfort, IN); also three Martin children: Kay (Rich) Myers (Brighton, MI), Jean (Kent) Hampton (Minneapolis, MN) and Mary Martin (Dallas, TX). MJ cherished her 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A family memorial service will be conducted at Riverview Cemetery, McMinnville TN in September.
