SOUTH BEND — Thomas A. Gar-vin, 75, of Palm Bay, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died at 12:01 am. Wednesday in Apopka, Fla. Mr. Garvin retired in 1981 as president of Garvin Brothers Machine Shop.

He was born June 2, 1919, in Elkhart. His wife, Evelyn June (Riggs) Garvin, died March 12, 1991. He is survived by two daughters, Mary Mice "Marsha" Huntsinger of Palm Bay and Norma Jean Kehoe of Niles; two sons, Thomas A. Jr. and Daniel F., both of Los Angeles; four grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Farnam of Lake Forest, Ill., and Frances Riggs of Savoy, Ill.; and a brother, Frederick Garvin of South Bend.

He was a charter member of Roseland Rotary, Masons, Shriners, Toastmasters International, International Federation of Chess, Christian Science Church and a volunteer for adult literacy. There will be no services. Cremation will take place at Orlando (Fla.) Direct Cremation Service.
