Shirlee Mae (Schick) Broomall

Shirlee Mae Broomall, 80, of Princeton, Ill., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died Thursday, Sept. 2, in her Princeton residence. She was born on June 1, 1924, in South Bend, to the late Myrtle (Johnson) and Anthony Schick Jr. Mrs. Broomall was also preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Neff.
On Aug. 28, 1948, as Shirlee Mae Schick, she married Charles O. Broomall, who survives. Mrs. Broomall is also survived by a daughter, Susan (Peter) Harris of Palo Alto, Calif.; two sons, Phillip (Vicky) Broomall of Frankfort, Ky., and Bruce Broomall of Chattahoochee, Fla.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Ferris "Bud" Schick of Hawthorne, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Opal (Fred) Frier of Arvada, Colo., and Edith Broomall of Mishawaka, Ind.; five nieces, four nephews, a great-niece and one great-nephew.
Mrs. Broomall was an administrative assistant in real estate. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bureau County Senior Citizens Center, and Presbyterian Hill Social Club, all in Princeton.
Funeral services for Mrs. Broomall will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Homes, 521 N. William St., South Bend, where friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of services Tuesday. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, or Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton, III., or Illinois Valley Hospice, Peru, III.
