MISHAWAKA - Margaret Mary "Peg" Stark, 88, of Catalpa Drive, Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away peacefully with her family near her side on August 26, 2011 in the Michiana Health & Rehabilitation Center under the care of the Center for Hospice.

Born October 31, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Delbert S. and Blanche E. (McCreary) Thompson. She was predeceased by her husband, G. Frank Stark on April 27, 2004, and her sister Mary Eileen Schlager of Detroit, Michigan.

Peg is survived by her brother, John D. Thompson and his wife, Dorothy of South Bend, Indiana; and her brother-in-law, Forrest and his wife, Dolores of St. Charles, Mo.; four children, Paula (Charles) Narveson of Gold Canyon, AZ, Margaret "Pegie" (Stuart Adam) Stark Adam of Ontario, Thomas J. Stark of Mishawaka, and Scott F. (Myra) Stark of Queen Creek, AZ; eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Peg grew up in South Bend and attended St. Joseph's Catholic School and Central School.

Peg was married to G. Frank Stark on October 23, 1945 in South Bend, Indiana at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, South Bend where she has been a member all of her life. She was an active and dedicated volunteer in a number of organizations such as The Altar Society of St. Joseph Catholic Church, The Circle of Mercy, St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary, and Cambridge Square where she lived. She also held positions of President and other director positions in several of these organizations.

Peg was loved by everyone because she was a giver. She loved to do for others. She was a wonderful mother, and grandmother, and would spend any free time volunteering. Everyone commented on her beauty, her smile and her lovely blue eyes that danced when she was entertaining family and friends. She was a role model for all of us. Thanks especially to her son, Tom, who took such good care of her, making it possible for her to live at home alone and have her independence, which meant so much to her. She had a sweet strong spirit and a great faith in the Lord. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
