Lois Daisy Taylor (Taylor)

LOIS DAISY TAYLOR

Lois Daisy Taylor Feb. 24, 1924 - May 11, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Lois Daisy Taylor, resident of the Calvert Manor Healthcare Center, went home to be with the Lord on Monday the 11th of May 2015, in Elkton, Maryland. Lois was born February 24, 1924, in South Bend, Indiana.

She was a graduate of Central High School in South Bend and married Charles Edward Taylor in 1940.

Charles was called to the ministry and Lois faithfully followed him as he Pastored eight churches over the years, of which three they founded. They also served many years in the Evangelistic Field, where they ministered at many churches in several States and held numerous Tent Revivals. Rev. and Mrs. Taylor inspired many in their congregations with their music and singing, where many also came to know the Lord. Under their ministry many felt the calling of the Lord to go into the Ministry. Rev. & Mrs. Taylor pastored Ocean Heights Pentecostal Church on Ocean Heights Avenue in Egg Harbor Twp., N.J., for 40 years. This was the last church they pastored before retiring from the ministry. They retired to their home in South Bend, Indiana, for several years till their health issues required that they return to live with their daughter, Elizabeth, in Elkton, Maryland. In her younger years,

Lois and her sister May, were also known as "Daisy and Dolly", performing on the WLS Radio Talent Show out of Chicago, Illinois, where Lois met her husband Charles. When Charles enlisted to serve his country in WW II, to help support her country, as well as her two young children, Lois went to work at Bendix Aviation as a machine operator and would walk or when she could she would ride her bike the couple of miles to the factory. She would often say she would look up at the ceiling of the building, thinking she heard the cries of her two little toddlers. Lois was known throughout her life as a hard working woman who for many years as a young wife and mother supplemented the family income by selling Stanley Home Products at home parties. In just the last year or two of her life, while a resident at Calvert Manor, she had aspirations of again becoming a Sales Person for their products and selling their products over the phone. Lois didn't know a stranger and those who met her never forgot her and her witty humor. As a longtime resident of Calvert Manor she was known to run a tight ship and many of the Staff and other residents were careful to follow Lois' instructions. It has already been noted by the staff that they will have much difficulty in filling her position.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Charles and her grandson Kenneth Booye.

She is survived by her three daughters, Rosalind June Sendler, Maralind Joan Krejci and Elizabeth Irene Booye, and five siblings, May Mendenhall, Forrest True, Sherrilyn Stone, Laverne Johnson and Patricia Overton. She is also survived by nine grandchildren as well as eleven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grand-children.

A Memorial Service will be held at Adams- Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. The viewing will be held from 1 to 2 pm Saturday and the service will begin at 2 pm.
