HENRYVILLE - Virginia Lois (Reece) Spry, 91, of Henryville, IN passed away at 5:15 PM on December 12, 2012 at Bee Hive Homes of Scottsburg, IN. Virginia moved to Henryville in 1986 from South Bend, IN to be closer to her family. Virginia was born on December 7, 1921 in South Bend, IN to Rollo and Elizabeth (Walter) Reece.

She graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1940.

Virginia married Harry W. Spry Jr. on May 21, 1941. Harry preceded her in death on September 4, 2004.

Virginia retired from St. Joseph's Medical Center in the Social Services Dept. in South Bend, IN in 1983 with 25 years of service. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Henryville, IN and RSVP club, where they tacked quilts and donated them to hospitals. She enjoyed playing bunco, euchre, and crocheting beautiful rugs.

Virginia was a happy, devoted, and caring Mother of her son, Ronald E. Spry of Salem, IN; daughter, Judith A. (Warren) Maddox; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ben) Spry-Knutson & Christopher Spry all of Iowa, Troy Gramza of Pace, FL, Jamie (Jessica) Maddox of Pekin, IN & Jolene Maddox (Ben) Ross of New Albany, IN; great-grandchildren, Kaylee & Kole Knutson, Alisha & Kaley Gramza, Jameson T. Maddox, Codey, Cavan, Dylan & Teigan Spry.

Virginia was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tristy Dawn Maddox on Sept. 29, 1976 and her only brother, Walter Reece in 2004.

Virginia' s visitation and funeral will be held at Adams Funeral Homes and Crematory in Henryville, IN, December 15, 2012 from 10 AM to 2 PM with funeral services starting at 2 PM with Father Steve Schaftlein, with burial to follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Henryville, IN.
