Estel Earl O'Connell
Estel Earl O'Connell, 44, of 51421 U.S. 31, was dead on arrival at 8 a.m. Friday at Memorial Hospital. Ile had ben under. a physicians care for a heart ailment. Born in Rochester, IN on Feb. 9, 1922, he came to South Bend 35 years ago from Rochester. He married Dorothy J. Miller in 1946 in Harrisburg, KY. She survives along with his father, Charles D. O'Connell of Mishawaka; two daughters, Patricia Ann and Helen Jean, and a son, Charles Stevens, all at home.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Forest G. Hay and Son Funeral Home, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Rev. L. Paul Harris, pastor of the Community Congregational Church, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
Mr. O'Connell was a former employee of the Studebaker Corp., a veteran of World War II and a member of Chapter 6 DAV. Members of the DAV Post will serve as pallbearers.
