Jeanne (Myers) Bill

MISHAWAKA - Jeanne Bill, 87, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 9:15 PM Sunday, July 6, 2008, in Fountainview Place of Mishawaka. She retired in 1986 as a gemologist in jewelry sales from Milady Shop and Royal Patrician Jewelry Stores after 30 years of service. She was born on May 12, 1921, in Brandon, WI, to Vern and Gertrude (Metcalf) Myers. In South Bend, IN, she married James Thompson, who preceded her in death on August 3, 1951. Then on March 21, 1954, in the River Park United Methodist Church, South Bend, she married John Bill, who preceded her in death in August 1995.

Mrs. Bill is survived by three sons, Michael (Mayra) Thompson of Morton, IL, Dennis Thompson of South Bend and Keith (Rita Wienholts) Bill of South Bend; five grandchildren, Michael and Eric Bill, Mayra Beth Thompson, Leigh (Jack) Culian and Renee Thompson. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Nikolas, Brendan and Maya; three sisters, Joanne Davis of Elkhart, Joyce Collmer of Jensen Beach, FL, and Mary Lou Siatkowski of South Bend; a sister-in-law, Burt Myers of Atlanta, GA; and a brother, Don Myers of Niles, MI. Three brothers, Bob Myers, Glen Myers and Vern Myers, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bill graduated from Central High School, South Bend, and attended Gemologist School at IUSB. She was a member of Sigma Alpha Sorority. A special thanks to James Blechl, M.D., and Dean Park, M.D., and the staff at Tanglewood and Fountainview for all their loving care.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, July 11, 2008, in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Ed Erskin will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home.
