Family-Placed Death Notice

Phyllis Clarke Wedow, 81, passed away at the Hospice Atlanta Center on September 1, 2003 with her son by her side. She was born in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of Edward Ernest Clarke and Dorothy Bushnell Clarke and was also the sister of Doris C. Jordan and the aunt to one nephew and one niece. In her early years, she was a member of the Campfire Girls, sang in the church choir and was part of the S.P.U.R. Activities Club at Central High School. She attended Indiana University and also business college in South Bend and was a member of the Progress Club.

Prior to getting married, her employment included working for the Federal government in rent control during World War II. In her final years, she resided at Campbell-Stone Apartments, a retirement community in Buckhead.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sheridan Holly Wedow , and son, Scott Graham Wedow, and is survived by son, Sheridan Holly Wedow Jr. Service was private at Arlington Memorial Park. H.M. Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill, 4550 Peachtree Rd., N.E., 404-261-3510.
