ANNA (KLOTZ) CZAJKOWSKI

SOUTH BEND - Anna Czajkowski, 78, passed away at 8:15 pm Saturday, July 6, 2013, in her residence. Anna was born on January 29, 1935, in Antunovac, Croatia, to Adam and Katarina (Takac) Klotz; in 1945 she went to Germany and came to South Bend in 1949.

She was employed by St. Joseph Bank, Tucker Freight, St. Joseph Hospital and Memorial Hospital. Anna was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Church, its Sacred Heart & Rosary Society, served as a board member for Sacred Heart Cemetery and was a 1954 graduate of South Bend Central High School.

She was fluent in 4 languages, loved to sew, and bake kolaches with the ladies at church. Anna's lifelong dream came true when she visited friends and family in Germany and went to her birthplace in Croatia.

On November 3, 1956, in South Bend, as Anna Klotz, she married Donald Czajkowski, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann (Zane) Geberin of Indianapolis and Kathleen Ann Czajkowski of South Bend; two sons, Steve Adam Czajkowski of South Bend and Donald James (Nancy) Czajkowski of New Hope, MN; 6 grandchildren, Amy Geberin, Kaitlin Geberin, Michelle Gannon, Adam Joseph Czajkowski, Laura Maria Czajkowski and Anthony Donald Czajkowski; and a great-granchild, Mia Lamirand.

Anna was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Czajkowski, a sister, Mary, and brother, Adam.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday, July 11, 2013, in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 3-8 Wednesday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 South Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hungary Church.
