TERRY H. GUMZ

Terry H. Gumz Nov. 25, 1935 - Nov. 2, 2014 SAFETY HARBOR, FL - Terry H. Gumz, 78, of Safety Harbor, FL (formerly of South Bend, IN) passed away at 2:10 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2014, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. He was born on November 25, 1935, to the late Harold and Irene (Simon) Gumz in Knox, IN, and had lived the last 20 years in Florida, coming from South Bend.

Terry graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1954.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Green Beret and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University, where he was a champion high diver. Terry went on to be a self-employed entrepreneur. He was an avid gardener and great conversationalist. Terry is survived by his longtime companion, Flora Jean Dieter; a son, Raymond (Michelle) Stoll of California; and five grandchildren.

A private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, IN, is handling arrangements.
