Camilla “Rosie” Jane (Erp) Braunsdorf

Camilla “Rosie” Jane Braunsdorf, 89, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. She was born on July 18, 1934 in South Bend, Indiana to the late George Everett and Camilla Mary (Reiley Mellon) Erp. On October 20, 1956 in St. Patrick’s Church, she married Warren J. Braunsdorf who preceded her in death on July 17, 2023. Rosie is survived by four daughters, Mary (Jerry) Baranowski, Margaret “Maggie” Ray, Colleen Echard, Judy Kolber, two sons, Tim (Tammy) Braunsdorf, Brian Braunsdorf, all of South Bend/Mishawaka, Indiana, fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, one sister, Rose Marie “Pinkie” Grams of Salem, NH, two brothers, James (Linda) Erp of Rochester, Indiana, Paul (Marcia) Erp of South Bend, Indiana, one sister-in-law, Phyllis Erp and one brother-in-law, Don Kline.

Rosie was also preceded in death by one son, Jeff “Jake” Braunsdorf, two grandchildren, Bridget Echard Morris and Justin Kolber, and eight siblings, George Erp, Mary Stewart, Betty Kline, Joseph Erp, Charles Erp, David Erp, Geraldine Hossom, and Jenny Glon.

Rosie was a very active volunteer with organizations like St. Joe Med Center Auxillary (past president), including organizing and participating in the Follies and Festival of Trees, Lights, and Peace, Knights of Columbus Auxillary, Democratic Women, Sigma Alpha Sorority Chapter Epsilon Lambda, Rosary Society, Sister Maura Brannick (Chapin Street) Health Center, winning the Michiana 55 Plus Volunteer Award and Hours of Service Award in 2002. After many years of raising her children, Rosie began her antique business, "Rosie's This Time Around." With all of that, she still found time to help raise her grandchildren and even great grandchildren. Rosie loved family get togethers, vacationing at a lake cottage, antiquing, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday July 27, 2023 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, IN from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a rosary to be prayed at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1050 Wilber St., South Bend, IN at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sister Maura Brannick Health Center, 326 Chapin St., South Bend, IN 46601 in Rosie’s honor. Online condolences may be left at www.kaniewski.com
