May 29, 1936 - June 6, 2007
OSCEOLA - William B. Colvin Jr., 71, passed away at 12:22 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He is survived by his friend and loving companion of 20 years, Danielle Minor, aunts, uncle and numerous cousins. Bill was born in Cassopolis on May 29, 1936, to William B. and Kathleen L. (Johnes) Colvin (deceased), moving to South Bend in 1945 where he lived most of his life before moving to Osceola in 2001.

He graduated from Central High School in 1954, received his certificates in Tool & Die Design Engineering in 1955 and 1956 from Acme School of South Bend, IN.

He joined the Army in 1959 and was honorably discharged February 28, 1965, after serving four years in the reserves. Bill was also a chief pilot, getting his wings in 1967 and a parachutist certificate in 1969. Flying was his real passion and he enjoyed doing so across the United States. He also received a certificate from the R.C.A. Institutes in 1965 for a course in electronic fundamentals, and retired in 1968 from Capitol Engineering.

He was an active member of the American Legion Post 284, the V.F.W. and Conservation Club in Lydick. If desired, donations may be made to any organization mentioned above.

Cremation has taken place with McGann Hay Funeral Home. Interment will be 11 a.m. July 28 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Indianapolis. "Rest in peace"
