Thomas Kellogg Nov. 7, 1937 - Mar. 22, 2015 GRANGER - Thomas (Tom) Grant Kellogg passed away at the Hearth at Juday Creek shortly after midnight on March 22, 2015. Tom was born in Marquette, MI on November 7, 1937 to the union of Sara M. (June) Kellogg and Percy S. Kellogg. The family moved to South Bend in the early 1940's when his father sought work at the Bendix Plant.

He graduated South Bend Central High School in 1955 and served his country in the United States Air Force where he would spend the next six years working as an electronics technician.

While stationed in Biloxi, MS, he met Ann Kathleen (Kathy) Maholovich in Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of New Orleans, and they were married on October 27, 1962. After Tom served in the U.S. Air Force, he and Kathy moved back to South Bend, where Tom joined the South Bend Police Department. He retired after 20 years of service in 1987. Tom and Kathy were blessed with three daughters who survive: Millie (Chuck) Bartley of Warsaw, IN, Sue (Scott) Cassel of Auburn, IN and Teresa (Dan) Miller of Indianapolis, IN.

Kathy preceded him in death on February 2, 1975. He was married to Ann Cushing Kenley on December 24, 1975 and became the stepfather to Robert (Bonnie) Cushing, who now resides in Summerlin, NV. Ann and Tom would later divorce and he married Jean Klaffke on January 15, 1987. He became the stepfather to Rebecca Klaffke. Jean preceded him in death on February 3, 2008.

After retiring from the South Bend Police Department, Tom went to work for A E Pistons in South Bend (now Federal Mogul), where he retired after 21 years of service. Tom spent the last three years of his life living at the Hearth at Juday Creek where he enjoyed the company of its wonderful staff and residents who took care of him like their own family until he left this earth. The family wishes to thank all of the staff at the Hearth at Juday Creek, Harbor Light Hospice, and Always Best Care for the compassion and care they showed to everyone during Tom's last days.

Tom is also survived by two grandsons, Sean Dunnuck of Leiters Ford, IN and Eric Dunnuck of Indianapolis, IN; two granddaughters, Abbey and Allison Cassel, of Auburn, IN; and two step-grandsons, Adam Cushing of Tallahassee, FL and Cody Cushing of Reno, NV.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert Lloyd Kellogg and Joseph Frank Kellogg; and his step-daughter, Rebecca Klaffke.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, where visitation with family will take place on Wednesday, March 25, from 11:30 am-1:30 pm, with a funeral service immediately following. Dr. Adelia Kelso, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, South Bend, will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
