KATHLEEN M. HARGRAY

Feb. 20, 1937 - Jan. 16, 2012 SOUTH BEND - Kathleen Marlene Hargray, 74, who resided on North Meade Street, South Bend, IN, passed away peacefully at 12:40 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2012, in Indianapolis, IN. Kathleen was born February 20, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, to Wesley Hargray and Geraldine (Jones) Madden, who both preceded her in death.

She graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1955.

She attended college and obtained her paralegal certificate. Her work history included Healthwin Hospital as a CNA for three years, then seven years as a case manager for the welfare department, five years as a paralegal for Legal Services, and her last place of employment for the City of South Bend as a bookkeeper. She loved music, sewing, fishing, hunting, board games and traveling.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Laverne Coleman of Indianapolis, IN, Tonya "Doreen" Merritt and Antoinette Coleman; one son, Kim Coleman, all of South Bend; 8 grandchildren, Shanae, Paige, Kalyn, Mercedes, Desiree, Brooke, Jennifer and Dareon; one great-grandchild, Nyshawn; two sisters, Cynthia (Warren) Preston and Connie Jackson, both of Detroit, MI; two brothers, John (Sharon) Hargray of Rutherglen, VA, and Richard Hargray of Woodbridge, VA; along with a host of close friends and other family members.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Pentecostal Cathedral C.O.G.I.C., with burial following at Highland Cemetery. Viewing will take place at the church Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary where messages of condolence may be e-mailed to Alfordsmortuary@att.net, c/o the Hargray family.
