Elizabeth A. "Liz" (Toth) Keszei

Elizabeth A. "Liz" (Toth) Keszei, 91 of South Bend, Indiana passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

Liz was born in South Bend, Indiana on May 13, 1931, to Andrew A. and Elizabeth (Szabo) Toth.

Liz graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1951. During high school, she was active in theater, synchronized swimming, and was a member of the Spurs Social Club. She attended Indiana University at Bloomington.

Liz was a member of the former Service Guild in South Bend, having held various offices and helped with many fundraisers over the years. She was a homemaker, excellent Hungarian cook, and master seamstress, making wedding dresses in years past. She was a very talented artist as well. Liz had a beautiful outgoing personality. After raising her children she took up golf at Erskine Park in South Bend. She played in 9 & 18 hole leagues where she was proud to have made a hole-in-one. She was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Jude Parish in South Bend.

On August 21, 1954, Liz married Louie Keszei who preceded her in death on July 1, 2010. She was also preceded by her twin daughter and son, Nancy and Edward; a great-granddaughter, Jade; and her sister, Rosemary Reiter.

Surviving are her children, Vincent Keszei MD and his wife, Jackie, Frank Keszei and his wife, Sue, Andy Keszei, James Keszei and his wife Jill; grandchildren, Angela Johnson and her husband Kyle, Matthew and his wife, Melissa, Alex, Abby, Adam, Andrea, Addyson, Nick, Gena, Cory, Drew, and Conrad; a great-grandson, Andrew; her twin brother, Andy Toth, her brother-in-law, John Reiter; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. (EST), Friday, August 26, 2022, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 19704 Johnson Road, South Bend, where visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass. Private burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery on the Campus of the University of Notre Dame will take place at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, La Porte, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity in Liz's name.
