Bernice K. (Czuk) Ganns

May 4, 1932 — July 19, 2001

Bernice K. Ganns, 69, of Sheridan Street in South Bend, Ind., passed away Thursday, July 19, 2001 in Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mrs. Ganns was born on May 4, 1932 in South Bend to the late Joseph and Josephine (Gadomski) Czuk. On October 13, 1956 Bernice married Richard J. Ganns who preceded her in death on July 11, 1986.

Surviving are three daughters, Lisa (John) Fredlake of Granger, Ind., Sherri Ganns of South Bend, Tracy (Yves) Francois of Montreal, Canada; a son Rick Ganns of South Bend; three grandchildren, Alex and Max Fredlake, & Sebastien Francois.

Also surviving is a sister, Gertrude (Matt) Prikosovich of South Bend: and a brother, John (Evelyn) Czuk of South Bend. Two sisters, Henrietta George and Marie Janowiak preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2001 in St. Pius X Catholic Church, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2001 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr. South Bend, IN, where a Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m. Mrs. Ganns was a member of Women of the Moose #58. She will be remembered as a loving mother and nana to her magnificent seven.
