Sandra Katherine (Stettauer) Bonde

Sandra Stettauer Bonde Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 2nd, 1935 Departed on July 15th 2016 Sandra Stettauer Bonde Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend, passed away peacefully from natural causes on July 15th 2016. Sandra took great pride in her family and reveled in spending time with family and friends. Perhaps most endearing was her ready smile and willingness to lend an open ear to all. Generous with family and various charitable organizations, she was especially connected with her parish in Rhode Island, Holy Angels.

She and her late husband, Bill, lived most of their adult lives in Rhode Island where they formed lifelong relationships with friends and coworkers. In retirement, they moved to Michigan to be closer to family, however they could be found in the Florida Keys during the winter months enjoying fishing and the famed sunsets.

Sandra was born on January 2nd 1935 in Indianapolis IN. She graduated from high school in South Bend IN. She was an accomplished swimmer and skier. She was also an avid reader and loved to watch classic movies. While attending Indiana University and during a break, attended a party at the University of Notre Dame, where she met the love of her life Bill. They were soon married in the Log Chapel on the Notre Dame campus and remained happily together for 52 years, until Bill's passing in 2008. Most important to Sandra was her family.

She is survived by her sons, William, Peter and Chris, and daughter-in-law's Julie, Ann and Jennifer. She was grandmother to Peter, Nicholas, Andrew, Samantha, Isabella, William, Christopher and Adam. She was sister to the late Marilyn and late Glenn Woods. She was also sister-in-law to Joan Bonde and the late John (Hank) Bonde and Connie Woods,. She was aunt to Michael, Tracy and Elizabeth Woods, Paul and Kristan Bonde

The Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at A. J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 32515 Woodward Ave, Royal Oak, MI 48073 Funeral Mass Friday, July 22 - 10 a.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church 630 Harmon St, Birmingham, MI 48009. Visitation at church begins Friday at 9:30 a.m. Interment White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.
