Althea (Smith) Deam
May 26, 1934 ~ July 27, 2023 (age 89)
Althea M. Deam (nee Smith) of Mason, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2023, at the age of 89. She was born May 26, 1934, in Amarillo, Texas to Dr. Allen S. and Wilma (nee Davis) Smith. She graduated from Central High School, South Bend, Indiana in 1952 and studied at Purdue University before getting married and raising two children. Allie loved cats, having had many throughout her life. She was also an avid movie buff, particularly those of the 1940’s and 50’s. She will be forever loved and cherished.
Allie was preceded in death by: parents, Dr. Allen S. and Wilma Smith; and sister Phyllis Eger; and is survived by: daughter, Susan Kranjc; son, Dr. Gregory (Karen) Deam, and grandchildren, Dr. Kelly Kranjc, Steven (fiancée, Jana) Kranjc; Michael Deam, Caitlin Deam and Christopher (Kayla) Deam.
Private graveside services will be held at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, Indiana.
Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel is assisting with the arrangements.
