John "Nappy" Napieralski

John S. Napieralski, “Nappy”, 88, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 surrounded by his family.

John was born March 30, 1934 in South Bend to the late Joseph and Carrie (Wegenka) Napieralski. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Leo, & Aloysius Napieralski; and sisters, Helen Loeffler, Mary Lou Krempec, & Gertrude Schull.

Left to cherish the memory of John is his loving wife of 60 years, Saundra (Ponto) Napieralski; children, Dawn (Devin) Considine & Joseph (Karla) Napieralski; and grandchildren, Garrett, Emily, & Ava.

John was a member of the PNA Lodge #83, Cub Scouts & Lions Club of Green Township, and a member & area representative of CWA Local 5850. He worked for AT&T until retiring in 1988. John was a parishioner of St. Jude Parish for over 30 years. He enjoyed gardening, sailing, and relaxing with a good glass of wine with friends and family, and loved Notre Dame football. He summered for 30 years at Glenn Shores Michigan in the A-frame he built. He and his wife traveled the US, Europe, and Mexico and took a lot of cruises. John was a very funny man, easy going, and a joy to be around.

Visitation will be 3:00-7:00pm on Monday, September 5, 2022 in St. Joseph Funeral Home, Mayflower Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in St. Jude Catholic Church.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 1626 E. Day Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Their care and support greatly helped the family, nurse Lorie was especially an amazing help. Condolences may be made at www.sjfh.net.
