JAMES BRUCE KELLY

Kelly, James Bruce, 74, passed away December 25, 2007. Born in 1933 in South Bend, IN, he was the son of Paul and Nellita Kelly.

A graduate of South Bend Central High School, he received his college degree from Franklin College, Franklin, IN where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He served in the Army for 2 years, serving in Korea. He lived in Atlanta, GA. from 1961 until his retirement in 1988 from A. E. Staley Mfg. Co. James resided in Mission Viejo for 19 years. He was an active volunteer, accomplished bridge player, passionate lover of the stock market, Notre Dame football and all things John Deere, incredible handy-man and amazing husband, father and friend to all who knew him.

James is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Hinkle Kelly; daughter, Nancy (Klay) Shorthouse; step-son, David Smith; sister, Patricia Kelly O'Brien; sister-in-law, Jane Hinkle (Jim) Robaus; two grandchildren, Sebastian and Gabriella; four nieces, three nephews and former wife and friend, Diane O'Brien.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 30th, 2:00 p.m. at Presbyterian Church of the Masters, 26051 Marguerite Parkway, Mission Viejo. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Bruce's memory to Florence Sylvester Senior Center, 23721 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA 92653.
