MISHAWAKA– George L. “Lee” Baker, 81, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 in his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Lee was born on November 21, 1940 in Dowagiac, Michigan to Roy and Georgia (Swisher) Baker. On August 17, 1985 he married Sheryl Myer who survives along with two daughters Justine (Tom) Kline and Jeannie (Jeff) Coldiron, two sons Jim Baker and Ryan Johnson, six grandchildren Kyle Kline, Casey Miller, and Amelia Johnson, Andrew Baker, Gary (Kat) Miller, and Chase Coldiron, a great-grandchild Noah Miller, and a sister Beverly Kaminski. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Georgia Holcomb, and Mary Donna Kitchen.

Lee was employed and retired as an electrician from the South Bend Community School Corporation and was a United States Army veteran. He was a life time member of IBEW Local 153, an American Legion member for 50 years, and a graduate of South Bend Central High School in 1959. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, spending time and taking long motorcycle trips with his good friends, going to the casino, wood working, reading, flying air planes, attending the grandchildren's sporting events, country music and especially Johnny Cash. He will be forever loved and missed by his family and his many friends.
