PATRICIA A. (WEGENKA) LASKOWSKI

July 20, 1931 - Sept. 30, 2013
MADISON - Mrs. Patricia Anne "Pat" Wegenka Laskowski, age 82, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on July 20, 1931 in St. Joseph County, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late, Walter and Blanche Napieralski Wegenka.

She was raised in South Bend and was a 1949 graduate of South Bend Central High School.

Pat was united in marriage on May 24, 1952 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in South Bend to Joseph Laskowski, Jr. This happy marriage was blessed with four sons. Pat was employed with the South Bend Community School as a secretary for 25 years. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Parish for many years in South Bend. Pat resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for three years to be near her son and when they moved to Indianapolis she followed them there. In Indianapolis she worked as a secretary at Asphalt Materials for eight years. Her son moved to Madison and Pat followed in 1995. She then began working at the Beta House at Hanover College as a cook for five years and as a cook for Pope John Day Care for a couple of years. She became a faithful member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Madison and served as treasurer of the King's Daughters' Dorcas Circle.

Pat enjoyed cooking, and caring for her family.

Pat died on Monday, September 30, 2013, at 1:30 a.m. at the Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY Pat will be missed by her loving sons, John Laskowski and his wife, Alice of Bloomington, Indiana, Michael Laskowski and his wife, Jean of Madison, Indiana, Daniel Laskowski and his wife, Elizabeth of Carmel, Indiana; her daughter in law, Jackie Singleton and her husband, Joe of Greenwood, Indiana; her sister, Mary Jane Fowler of Brewster, New York; her brothers, Chester Wegenka and his wife, Marilyn of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Daniel Wegenka and his wife, Arline of Watervliet, Michigan; 15-grandchildren, 7-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Wegenka, died July 8, 1972; her mother, Blanche Napieralski Wegenka, died March 15, 1982; her husband of nine years, Joseph Laskowski, Jr., died November 2, 1961; her son, Thomas Laskowski; her brothers, Robert, Walter, and Frank Wegenka; her sister, Rita Csenar.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Funeral mass will be conducted on Friday, October 4, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. by Father Christopher Craig at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1403 East Second Street in downtown Madison, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may call Thursday from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana. KING'S DAUGHTERS' SERVICE King's Daughters' Circle will conduct a memorial service on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. THE ROSARY The Rosary will be prayed on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS Memorial contributions may be made to Pope John Day Care or Downs Syndrome of Central Florida. Cards are available at the funeral home.
