Coral Dean (Pendl) Hibiske
August 6, 1930 ~ September 14, 2023 (age 93)
Coral Dean Hibiske, 93, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on September 14, 2023 in South Bend, IN. She was born on August 6, 1930, in Argos, IN, to the late John and Nellie (Smith) Pendl.
On March 3, 1950, she married Robert L. Hibiske who preceded her in death on June 1, 2016.
Coral is survived by her sons, Tim (Barbara) Hibiske of Hoagland, IN and Greg (Karen) Hibiske of Bellville, NC. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of her four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Coral is also survived by her two sisters, Norma Dorman and Ruth Hock.
Coral was a dedicated professional, spending many years as an administrative assistant for the South Bend Community School Corporation. Her diligence, dedication, and meticulous nature made her an invaluable asset to the institution. Her colleagues remember her fondly for her kindness, gentleness, and unwavering commitment to her work.
Beyond Coral's professional life, she was involved at church and taught children for many years in child evangelism, AWANA, and Sunday school classes. She was well known for her use of flannel graph to present the gospel message to students.
Coral's life was a beautiful journey . Her memory will continue to inspire and guide all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation will be held 4 -7 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 21 at First Baptist Church of Mishawaka, 724 N Main St, Mishawaka, IN 46545 with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.
