STARK O. SANDERS

Stark Orben Sanders, Jr., Colonel USAF (Ret.), attorney, judge, military officer and long-time resident of San Antonio and Garden Ridge, Texas, passed away on February 4, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas. Stark was born on July 20, 1935, near South Bend Indiana.

He graduated from Central High School, South Bend, as well as the University of Notre Dame. Having received a Juris Doctor Degree in June 1960 from Indiana University, he embarked upon a distinguished career in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General's Corps.

Following his successful military career, Stark served for ten years as the Chief Appeals Judge, Texas Workers Compensation Commission in Austin. Stark's life reflected duty with honor to God and country as evidence by his lineage in the Magna Charta Society.

Stark is survived by his wife, Carolyn Brown Sanders of Garden Ridge, Texas; two daughters, Karen Sanders Heidrich of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Charlotte Sanders Moreau, currently residing in Beijing, China, as well as four grandchildren, Katherine Anne Heidrich, Benjamin Stark Heidrich, Leah Grace Moreau and Ava Charlotte Moreau.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2012 at Porter Loring Mortuary North. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at The Fellowship of San Antonio, 23755 Canyon Golf Road, San Antonio, Texas. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fisher House, Inc., 7323 Hwy 90 West, Suite 107, San Antonio, Texas 78227, or the church of your choice. Arrangements with:
