Janis Ann Dannerberger (Paluzzi) - Class Of 1953 VIEW PROFILE

Janis Ann Dannerberger (Paluzzi)

Janis (Dannerberger) Paluzzi

Janis (Dannerberger) Paluzzi was born March 31, 1935, to Ethel (Willets) and Charles Dannerberger in South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Joan Hansen and the love of her life, her husband Armand.

Janis attended South Bend Central High School, was a member of the SPURS Social Club there and made lifelong friends with her ABRs (American Beauty Roses).

She graduated in 1953 and attended Michigan State University for two years. She married her best friend and soul mate Armand Paluzzi in 1958 and had three children, Karen Paluzzi (Annette), Bruce Paluzzi (Melissa) both of Granger, IN and Kristine (Rich) Holland of Osceola. She was the proud Grandmother of Jessica (Adam) Morris, Chelsea (Andy) Klimek, Addison and Bella Paluzzi, as well as Joshua (Stephanie) Morris of Illinois and four Great Grandchildren who knew her as Grandma Jam; Carter and Cora Klimek and Jayde and Jordan Morris.

She was also survived by her adopted family members Maria Siqueira of Mishawaka, IN and Nevin and Jennifer Siqueira of Granger, IN. Janis was employed by the Fatima Retreat Center, in South Bend where she was the office manager for 20 years and made lifelong friends with many who served there. She enjoyed their reunion lunches. The Paluzzi Family attended Holy Cross Church in South Bend where Janis and Armand were involved as eucharistic ministers, in leading youth retreats, Marriage Encounter and We Together Singers positively impacting many youths during the turbulent early 1970’s.

Jan had a deep faith, attended mass regularly and belonged to a prayer group who were very important to her. Jan enjoyed traveling with Armand, especially to Myrtle Beach, NC and Longboat Key, FL, socializing with their many friends over the years and will be remembered as the “life of the party”. She had a lively spirit, a quick wit and rarely knew a stranger, even learning simple phrases in other languages to communicate with foreign travelers who visited Fatima. In her later years, she hosted gatherings with her neighbors on her patio at her home. She was also an avid golfer, reader and volunteered with Logan Industries, and the Reins of Life organization. Mom/Grandma/Aunt Jan/Grandma Jam, we love you, we are sad to lose you and will miss you. To which she would have replied, I Love You More.
