Maureen L. Beissel-Holland

Maureen L. Beissel-Holland, 89, of South Bend, passed away on Monday December 19, 2022 at Memorial Hospital South Bend. She was born on December 14, 1933, in South Bend, to the late John T. and Madeline Elizabeth (Bueche) Beissel and was a lifelong area resident. Maureen worked in the Meat Department and as a Cashier for Martins Supermarket before retiring in 1998.

She is survived by her children: Donald Holland, Susan (Michael) Stachowski and Katharine Eyster, all of South Bend, David (Anita) Holland of Niles, MI, Jeannette Bare of South Bend, Richard (Kristine) Holland of Osceola, IN, John (Joanne) Holland of South Bend and Judith (Ray) Buzalski of South Bend; 25 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and by two brothers, John (Suzanne) Beissel of Arizona and Robert Beissel of South Bend.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Donald Holland, her grandson, Daniel Holland, two sisters, Jacqueline Andert and Marjorie Fields and two sons-in-law, Gary Bare and Fred Eyster. Mrs. Holland was a long time member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, loved cross stitching and QVC, but primarily took great pride in raising her family and providing a loving home.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. EST Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend. A Memorial Service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral with burial in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend, at a later date.
