SOUTH BEND - Mr. Johnie Lottie Jr., 64, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 4:30 A.M. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at his home in South Bend. His wife, Lynnette, and son, Brandon, were by his side. Johnie was born on August 6, 1947, in South Bend, to the union of Johnie and Oleava (Owens) Lottie, who both preceded him in death. He confessed his love for Christ and was baptized under the late Rev. Jimmy Jones at the Greater Saint John Missionary Baptist Church where he continued his membership until his passing.

Johnie graduated from South Bend Central High School and LaVelle Barbering College in Gary, Indiana.

He was employed by Honeywell (the former Bendix Corporation) and retired in 1998. Johnie was owner/operator of The Total Look Barber Shop in Elkhart, Indiana, where he serviced the Michiana community.

On September 18, 1981, he was united in marriage to Lynnette Miller, and to this union one child, Brandon, was born. Johnie leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lynnette; three sons, Johnie III of Zion, Illinois, Christopher (Susan) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Brandon of South Bend, Indiana; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; six siblings, Tommy Owens, Diane Lottie-Owens, Ervin (Patricia) Lottie, Barbara (Rev. Cary) Batteast, Cornelius (Cathy) Lottie and Damita Williams; childhood and lifelong friend, George Jones, all of South Bend; two special aunts, Goldie Lottie residing in Atlanta, Georgia, and Louise Blake of South Bend; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Along with his parents, Johnie was also preceded in death by his father, and mother-in-law, Theodore and Mary Miller.

Johnie loved the Lord. He was a fun-loving family man; he was kind and generous and always willing to help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Funeral services for Johnie Lottie Jr. will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, in Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 101 Adams Street. Visitation will begin 11:00 a.m. and then services at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visit www.clarkoneal.com to sign his guestbook.
