DR. GARY ZIMMERMAN, 76, passed away at on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, 11:55 a.m., at Lutheran Hospital. Born June 4, 1942, in Elkhart, he was a son of Arthur Zimmerman and Lois (Leeper) Zimmerman. Gary began his 39 year teaching tenure as Professor of Psychology at Manchester College in 1970. He retired from Manchester College in 2009. He married Jean Warstler in 1964, who passed away in October of 1996. He then married Joan Ralston in 2007. Surviving are his wife, Joan; daughters, Dr. Lori (Joel Eichenauer) Zimmerman of North Manchester, and Kristi (Brian DeWyse) Zimmerman of Portage, Mich.; son, Jordan Bartlett of Fort Wayne; brothers, Richard (Barb) Zimmerman of South Bend, and Kent (Julie) Zimmerman of Dayton, Ohio; his sister, Karen (Alan) Sommers of Chesteron; grandchildren, Connor, Karly, and Kelsey Eichenauer, Kenzi Zimmerman-Frost, and Macie and Shelby DeWyse. Service is noon Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at Manchester Church of the Brethren, 1306 Beckley St., North Manchester, Ind., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. until time of service. Family and friends may also call for visitation from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at the church. Burial will follow service at Oaklawn Cemetery, 600 Beckley Street, North Manchester, Ind. The Zimmerman family has entrusted McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with handling the final arrangements.
