SANDRA S. (HUFF)  PICTON

Sandra Sue Picton Feb. 26, 1940 - Aug. 10, 2014 FORT MILL, SC - Sandra Sue, 74, died peacefully at CMC Pineville Hospital in Charlotte, NC, with loved ones by her side. Sandra was born to Charles Benjamin Huff & Maxine Donnabelle (Barhydt) Huff. As a child her family moved from Kendallville to South Bend where she lived for most of her life. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arlen Lee Huff; and ex-husband / father of the boys, William Edward Picton.

She is survived by three sons, Jody Michael Picton of Fort Mill, SC, Troy Charles Picton of New Carlisle, IN, & Ty William Picton of South Bend, IN; one daughter, Mistirae Angelina Branson of Fort Mill, SC; four granddaughters, Brandi Lorae Picton-Prater & Tyler Rachelle (Picton) Haines, both of South Bend, IN, Quinn Allyce Morehouse-Picton & Kennedy Anne Morehouse-Picton, both of New Carlisle, IN; three grandsons, Garrett Trey Picton of Davidson, NC, Trent Michael Picton of Fort Mill SC, & Kyle Aaron Morehouse-Picton of New Carlisle, IN; one great-grandson, Liam Mars Picton-Prater of South Bend, IN; three daughters-in-law, Jerriann Lorae (Bourdon) Picton of South Bend, IN, Diane Irene Parent of Fort Mill SC, & Rosan Morehouse-Picton of New Carlisle, IN; as well as two nephews, Toby Lee & Randall Lynn Huff; one neice, Pamela Jean (Huff) Williams; and one sister-in-law, Barbra Jean Huff.

Sandra graduated from Central High School in 1958.

Among Sandra's many hobbies were teaching dance classes to children from her home, knitting on her knitting machine, crafts of all sorts, coaching girls softball & cheerleading, planning & traveling on the many vacations that her family went on, her sincere joy of fishing, oil painting, playing the piano, and working at different schools throughout the years as a teachers aide. Sandra had a heart of gold and a magic touch when it came to nursing displaced, injured animals back to health. Sandra's strongest attribute was that she put other people's feelings and wellbeing ahead of her own. She would have given anyone her last dime if they needed it. I asked her a question shortly before she passed. I asked what she liked the most & least about her life? She answered both with the same sentence: "The sun shining on my face." You will be missed!
