James L. Whitesel
James L. Whitesel, 78, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. He was born on September 12, 1944 in South Bend, Indiana to the late George and Frances (Reichanadter) Whitesel.
On October 3, 1964 he married Anna B. Kertai who preceded him in death on July 8, 2017. James is survived by two sons, Troy (Susan) Whitesel of South Bend, Indiana, James (Kathy) Whitesel of Indianapolis, Indiana, two grandchildren Cole (Abbey Kaser) Whitesel and Jake (Jessica) Whitesel, one great grandchild, Paisley Whitesel and his fiancé Diane Hawks.
Jim was a proud graduate of South Bend Central High in 1962. He worked for many years as journeyman machine repairmen. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. A visitation for James will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr. South Bend, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in James’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Online condolences may be left at www.kaniewski.com
