Karen and I were the best chums while at Central and in band together :  going on the band's trips , marching in parades and at football games doing pre- and halftime shows. My husband , Brian , and I  visited  with Karen once when she lived in Auburn , but then we lost touch with her after that. It's always sad to hear of a classmate's death, especially someone who was so vivacious as Karen was . Sincere condolences to family and Karen's other close friends.
