JAY ROHR, born 1943 in Mishawaka, IN, son of John Norman Rohr and Beatrice Louise Hill, passed away August 16, 2023.

Jay attended Catholic grade school and graduated with honors from Central High School in South Bend, IN. In 1967 he received a degree in Mathematics from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. He was hired by IBM data processing division and worked at Cape Canaveral. It was the introduction of the IBM 360 computer and the birth of commercial space travel; an exciting time for a young man. After leaving IBM in 1974 he began his career in commercial real estate, starting with a six-unit apartment building in Cocoa Beach. From there he went into shopping center leasing and then started Ferncreek Properties with Tom Morse. Ferncreek Properties grew into the largest commercial leasing firm at the time, having 75 employees. In 2012 Tom and Jay started a Real Estate Economic Feasibility Co. After selling the company in 1988, Jay started MetroOne, Inc.

In his 30's Jay did competitive sailing, loved snow skiing and later, having a motorboat, fishing often on Lake Howell where he lived. He and Carole did ballroom dancing until their feet gave out.

Jay was an active member of All Saints Episcopal Church where he ushered and was a Lifeworks coach for Jobs Partnership for 12 years.

Jay is survived by his wife Carole Buffum Rohr and his sisters Judith Roser and Roberta Rohr (Mary DeMange) his niece Tammi Rohr and grandniece Rhea Rohr. He is also survived by his stepson Brant Buffum (Brooke) and grandchildren Kristen and Jackson Buffum. He was preceded in death by his first wife Stella Virginia Rymarz.

Jay's funeral will be September 14 at All Saints Church at 11 o'clock.
